| Finished Siesta! Ignore the shoes... |
Episode 20: I Want An Alpaca
What's On Our Sticks:
Wendy finished her extra-long Siesta by Carol Feller - yay!!! It fits great and I'm super happy about it! I've also been working on the design for Mystery Sock IV, and have been working on my drop spindling.
Kelie is half-way through her Transition Point Socks from STR and they are looking cool! She's also making great progress on projects related to the next few topics...

Sports Knitting: We're halfway through the NASCAR tournament, and are tracking through the NFL season, too! Kelie and I have both been winners so far, and are cherishing our new dishcloths!
Update on our Susan G Komen Fundraiser: Thanks to everyone who has supported our fundraiser this year by purchasing the Bridge of Roses Sock Kit. We have donated over $800 to the foundation so far - yay!!! Summer Production Babe Judy has raised her required $2300 in donations (plus some!) and is working hard on her training in preparation for the November 3-Day Walk here in San Diego. Go Judy!
Lavishea Lotion Bars: We tested out the new "Yarn" scented Lotion Bars that I received for the store and we give them Four Hands Up! The bars have a nice almond scent, and provide deep non-greasy moisturizing for our dry knitter hands. I'll get these posted in the online store in the next couple of days!
Southern California Handweaver's Guild Fiber Festival: Once again, we'll be exhibiting at this awesome fiber festival in Torrance, CA. This year it is Sunday, November 6 from 10-4. Click here for more information! Lots of great vendors, free parking, $5 admission, fashion show, and raffles! (and a bake sale with rice krispie cookies :-)

Love the pictures this time. Especially the ones with Wendy in her Siesta and Kelie at the wheel. It's always great to see knitters wearing their own handknits. Yeah.
ReplyDeletewow...I did not look at the time on this when I started it and after 1 hour, I was totally amazed and ya'll were still talking!!!... Wonderful, loved it...Kelie...I really, really want to see that Swirl shawl finished. I so would like to make one, too, but I know better than starting it, so you are my hero..now bring it on home, sweetie!
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Kathy

ReplyDeleteCome on Kelie! 1 swirl a day! Go Kelie, Go Kelie, GO!
Come on Kellie!!! That swirl shawl is going to be beautiful. Keep on knitting!

Kelie, as you were talking about the swirl shawl and the yarn and then the name of it, I realized that I have that same kit!! I've only done a few of the hexagons, though. I'm not real happy with the centers, they don't look very good. After hearing you, maybe I'll use the wonderful yarn with a different pattern. You are so close, you have to keep going. It will look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLoved the episode! That Siesta sweater is so cute, Wendy.
ReplyDeleteKelie, I can't wait to see that swirl shawl. I'll think of you knitting swirls as I'm knitting my gift knitting boot camp socks. I'm betting you will finish before I do!
Great tunes...great pod cast...
ReplyDeleteGo Kelie Go!!!
Just to 'swirl to the music'
