It's been four weeks since we sat at the microphones, and we had a lot to chat about!

What's On Our Sticks:
Wendy finished her extra-long Siesta by Carol Feller - yay!!!  It fits great and I'm super happy about it!  I've also been working on the design for Mystery Sock IV, and have been working on my drop spindling.

Kelie is half-way through her Transition Point Socks from STR and they are looking cool!  She's also making great progress on projects related to the next few topics...

Seaside Shawlette KAL:  The pattern for this KAL, the Seaside Shawlette, has been at #1 on the Ravelry most active pattern list for 10 days now - woohoo!  The KAL goes through November 11, and everyone who completes a shawl is eligible for our random prize drawing.  See the Ravelry board for more info on this KAL by Clicking Here.  Kelie is making hers from Dreamsicle, and is on Chart C.  It's looking great!

The Socktober Leftober KAL:  Join us in October as we find ways to use up leftover sock yarn.  Anybody who finishes a project from leftober yarn in October will be eligible for a random prize!  Find more information on our Ravelry board by Clicking Here!  Kelie has made a super cute baby hat and moccasin set, and I'm almost done with my iPhone purse. 

Dreaded Knits:  Kelie has 13 Swirls to go and is struggling to find the motivation to finish.  Send her some encouragement in the comment section below so that she can finish this shawl and move on to the Opposite Pole sweater that she wants to start!

 Mobile Knitting:  Kelie donned a Pioneer costume and demonstrated spinning using an old-style wheel at her sons' school's Harvest Festival.  She looks adorable in these pictures!  Wendy finished knitting her Siesta while attending the October TKGA meeting, and got to hear a great presentation by Barry Klein of Trendsetter Yarns.  Kelie and I both got to do some knitting at the Vista Handweavers Guild Fiber Fiesta earlier this month.  What a great fiber festival - especially since it was the first year for the event.  The organizers were super friendly and did a wonderful job planning the event.  I highly recommend this event next October for Southern Cal knitters to attend. 

Hubby, Can I Have It?

Gift Knitting Boot Camp:  We're down to the last 5 weeks!  This month's theme is all about costumes, and people have been sharing some great photos of themselves.  Our Boot Campers are in the home stretch of their gifts, and are doing a great job on their projects.

Sports Knitting:  We're halfway through the NASCAR tournament, and are tracking through the NFL season, too!  Kelie and I have both been winners so far, and are cherishing our new dishcloths!

Update on our Susan G Komen Fundraiser:  Thanks to everyone who has supported our fundraiser this year by purchasing the Bridge of Roses Sock Kit.  We have donated over $800 to the foundation so far - yay!!!  Summer Production Babe Judy has raised her required $2300 in donations (plus some!) and is working hard on her training in preparation for the November 3-Day Walk here in San Diego.  Go Judy!

Lavishea Lotion Bars:  We tested out the new "Yarn" scented Lotion Bars that I received for the store and we give them Four Hands Up!  The bars have a nice almond scent, and provide deep non-greasy moisturizing for our dry knitter hands.  I'll get these posted in the online store in the next couple of days!

Southern California Handweaver's Guild Fiber Festival:  Once again, we'll be exhibiting at this awesome fiber festival in Torrance, CA.  This year it is Sunday, November 6 from 10-4.  Click here for more information!  Lots of great vendors, free parking, $5 admission, fashion show, and raffles!  (and a bake sale with rice krispie cookies  :-)
